Moldavite History
Moldavite is a substance not of the Earth, but rather is a Tektite (meteoric debris), with extraterrestrial origins, which explains its extremely high vibration, and other extraordinary qualities.
Moldavite was formed approximately 15 million years ago, after a giant meteorite impacted the Earth’s surface, creating the Nordlinger Ries Crater, in Bavaria, Germany.
Upon impact, rock from the meteorite, molten from the intense heat of atmospheric entry, splattered over 250 miles. The splattered rock cooled while falling to the ground along the Moldau River, for which it is named, and was subesquently covered with millions of years of sediment.
The large majority, over 90%, of the mined Moldavite, has been found in the South Bohemian region of present day, Czech Republic.
Since Moldavite formed quickly while cooling, it has no crystalline structure, rather it’s an amorphous (no defined shape), lightweight oxide glass. It’s vitreous in luster, with a texture made bumpy by its bubbles, and worm-like inclusions.
Moldavite varies in qrade, from museum grade (transparent and fern-like), to medium grade (translucent), and to regular grade (dark and opaque).
Moldavite Mythology
Finds from the Stone Age have shown Moldavite’s early use as an amulet stone, and as a carved fertility Goddess. Its early reputation as a magical stone for luck, the fulfillment of wishes, and fertility has survived to this day.
Buyer Beware!
Since Moldavite is a Tektite, not naturally formed on the Earth plane, when it’s all been mined, it will be extinct from within the Earth’s crust. This fact makes Moldavite specimens expensive to buy, which are generally sold by the gram.
Moldavite’s popularity, scarcity, and high prices, have made it a target for counterfeiters. It’s believed that the internet and shops are littered with Moldavite fakes, turned out by factories in China.
Therefore, one should only buy Moldavite pieces from trusted and reputable retailers. Chances are, if a specimen is advertised as coming from somewhere other than the Czech Republic, or its surface patterns are overly uniform, it’s a fake.
Moldavite Affects
Spiritual Affects – Moldavite allows the wearer to experience immense Spiritual dimensions, enhances clairvoyance, and gives glimpses of the Spiritual greatness humans could be capable of.
Moldavite has been known to stimulate intense Spiritual phenomena, such as out-of-body, and kundalini rising experiences. It’s also known to enhance dream work, when placed under the pillow while sleeping.
Users of Moldavite report that since using this crystal, their Spiritual journey has advanced at unbelievable speeds, as they literally leap ahead on their personal Spiritual Path. People and situations fall away from their lives, and are replaced by new people and situations, more helpful to them, for fulfilling their Life’s Purpose.
Moldavite can also help the wearer to receive insights into their past lives, or concurrent lives while in the current lifetime. Sometimes these bleed-throughs can be disconcerting, until they are recognized for what they are.
Emotional Affects – Moldavite brings memories and dream images that allow insights into the meaning of the events of our lives. Moldavite also encourages sympathy, and compassion for the plight of others.
Mental Affects – Moldavite helps us detach our attention and awareness from strongly materialistic leanings, from money problems, and from worries about the future. Moldavite also encourages spontaneous, unconventional ideas, and creative solutions to problems.
Physical Affects – Moldavite supports healing processes, by making us aware of the cause of our illness, and what we can gain from experiencing the illness. This releases the need to hold onto the illness.
Moldavite Applications
Moldavite unfolds its fullest effect if it is worn, or taped to the forehead at the 3rd Eye point, between the eyebrows, while meditating. It can also be worn in jewelry, crystal cages, pouches, or in pockets of clothing.
Moldavite can be laid upon the body, or in a grid around the body, during a crystal therapy treatment. Additionally, it’s reputed to significantly enhance dreamwork, if placed under one’s pillow, while sleeping.
Moldavite Jewelry
Moldavite is one of the few crystals that can be cut into facets without shattering, and polished smooth. When it’s set in either silver, or gold pendants, earrings, and rings, it makes for stunning pieces of jewelry.
Note: Moldavite carries such a high vibration that it can cause some wearers dizziness when they first began to wear it.
If this is the case, it’s recommended to first wear a small specimen for short periods at a time, in order to build up adaptation to the higher vibration. Then gradually increase the time worn, working up to wearing it for longer periods
I wish for you, the opportunity to give this powerful other-worldly crystal a try. I know if you do, you will find working with Moldavite to be both Spiritually transformational, and a super excellerant to your current Spiritual Path.
