Crystal or gem elixirs are diluted solutions containing only the energetic signature of crystals infused into water. And since crystals have healing properties that aid with physical and psychological issues, elixirs made from them do as well. Additionally, crystals and their elixirs have a stimulating effect on the Seven Major Chakras (the body’s energy centers). Therefore, in this post we will discuss creating crystal elixirs for Chakra balancing.
Notably, a crystal’s healing properties dictate the health issues its elixir is intended to help. And a crystal’s color dictates which deficient Chakra its elixir is intended to stimulate.
How are Crystal Elixirs Used?
Each crystal elixir is a diluted solution and is intended to be ingested. They are ingested by dropping five drops on the tongue up to three times per day. Therefore, elixirs are packaged in small dropper bottles, for ease of use.
Crystal elixirs can be purchased ready-made from health food and new age shops and on the internet. Alternately, they can be easily made at home with the 3 Step Method outlined below.
Beware of Elixirs Created From Toxic and Water-soluble Crystals
Because crystal elixirs are highly diluted and contain no physical crystal bits, they may all be mistakenly considered safe to ingest. But elixirs made from water-soluble crystals or those containing toxic elements submerged into water (Direct Method), are not safe for ingesting.
For some crystals may be highly radioactive, or contain sulfur, arsenic, aluminum, copper, etc. And water-soluble crystals may dissolve toxic substances into the water used to make their elixirs. Non-toxic crystals are basically only those from the Quartz and Calcite families.
Nonetheless, elixirs may be safely ingested if made from toxic (except for highly radioactive crystals) and water-soluble crystals when the Indirect Method is used. For safety, research is necessary, or only ingest elixirs made with Quartz and Calcite family crystals.
Process of Creating Crystal Elixirs for Chakra Balancing
The Direct Method of creating crystal elixirs begins with submerging a crystal in a glass bowl of purified water. The water is then heated in the sun (or in a pot on a stove). This process infuses the water with the crystal’s energetic signature.
Next, a Mother Elixir is created straining the crystal infused water into another container with added Brandy or Vodka for a preservative. Then, drops from the Mother Elixir bottle are added to small dropper bottles filled with more purified water for ingesting via drops on the tongue. Measurements for these are given below.
Alternatively, for toxic or water-soluble crystals, the Indirect Method is used. Here, a crystal is placed in a tightly lidded glass jar that is then submerged in the bowl of water used to create the infused water. Thus, no part of the crystal physically contacts the water. But the crystal will still imprint its energy through the glass onto the water surrounding the jar. The rest of the process is the same as the Direct Method.
3 Easy Steps to Create Your Own Crystal Elixirs
If the crystal elixir desired to use isn’t available, you can create your own. Fortunately, crystal elixirs are easy to create with the 3 steps outlined below.
For creating a crystal elixir, first choose a crystal that’s matches your purpose e.g., manifesting a goal, helping with a health issue, or stimulating a deficient Chakra. Then gather the required tools listed below.
Tools Needed:
- 1 large or several small, cleansed crystals
- Sterilized glass bowl (preferably crystal)
- Smaller sterilized lidded jar if using the Indirect Method
- Purified water
- Brandy or Vodka for a preservative
- Large sterilized sealable bottle/jar for storing the Mother Elixir
- 1-ounce blue or brown dropper bottles for Dosage Solution bottles
- Sterilized slotted spoon or tongs if using the Indirect Method
- Coffee filter
Note: blue or brown bottles are preferred because they prevent spoilage as their color blocks light penetration.
When creating a crystal elixir using crystals from the Quartz or Calcite families, use the Direct Method below. Alternately, when creating an elixir using crystals outside of the Quartz or Calcite families, known to be toxic, or water-soluble, use the Indirect Method below.
Warning: while many crystals contain a low and therefore safe amount of radiation, some are highly radioactive. And highly radioactive crystals should not be used to create elixirs. Due diligence in your research is needed.
3 Step Method:
- Create the Crystal Infused Water:
- Direct Method for Non-toxic and Non-water-soluble Crystals – First, submerge one large, or several small, cleansed crystals, into a sterilized glass bowl (preferably crystal) filled with purified water. Optional: the bowl can be chimed by 3 gentle raps on the side. Then heat this water covered with plastic wrap in the sun for several hours. Or place water and crystals into a pot and bring to a light boil on the stove. Remove the submerged crystals with a sterilized slotted spoon.
- Indirect Method for Toxic or Water-Soluble Crystals – For safety, use this alternative method for creating elixirs with crystals that aren’t of the Quartz or Calcite families. Place toxic and water-soluble crystals in a tightly lidded glass jar. Then submerge the jar in the bowl of water used for creating the crystal infused water. Remove the jar of crystals with sterilized tongs.
- Create the Mother Elixir Solution – Next, after removal of all crystals, strain the crystal infused water with a coffee filter into a sealable sterilized glass bottle or jar to three-fourths full. Then add one-fourth Brandy or Vodka to the infused water. This is the Mother Elixir Solution. Store it in a dark place and use it to create dosage bottles for up to 30 days. Note: Straining the crystal infused water is important to remove any crystal bits.
- Create the Dosage Solution – Finally, add 12 drops of the Mother Elixir to 1-ounce sterilized blue or brown dropper bottles filled with purified water. These bottles contain the Dosage Solution which will be ingested by 5 drops on the tongue up to 3 times per day.
Warning: if any sign of bacteria or mold appears in the stored Mother Elixir Solution container or the Dosage Solution bottles, discard, and do not use.
Crystal Elixirs for Specific Health Issues
A crystal elixir can be matched to a health issue when the properties of the crystal the elixir is made from addresses the same issue. However, information on which crystal to use for specific health issues is too large a volume to include here.
Nonetheless, a bit of crystal book or web research will produce viable options. Also, I offer a Crystal Therapist Certification Home Study Course which includes a list of which crystal to use for specific health issues. For more information on this course see my Reiki Essence Institute Energy Healing School website.
Crystal Elixirs for Chakra Balancing
Additionally, a crystal elixir can be matched to a specific Chakra for balancing its deficiency. However, it’s important to note that since crystal elixirs have a stimulating effect, they should only be used for deficient Chakras. For stimulating an already excessive Chakra will only increase its excessive symptoms.
Below is list of a few examples of crystal elixirs that can be used for balancing deficient Chakras. The elixirs can be ingested or rubbed into the Chakra area for a stimulating effect.
Warning: for safety reasons, ensure any elixirs using water-soluble crystals or those outside of the Quartz and Calcite families, were made with the Indirect Method.
Crystals Suited for Each Chakra
Root Chakra (Red) – Red Jasper, Ruby, Garnet, Hematite, Black Tourmaline
Sacral Chakra (Orange) – Carnelian, Goldstone, Coral
Solar Plexus Chakra (Yellow) – Citrine, Yellow Amber, Yellow Tiger Eye
Heart Chakra (Green or Pink) – Aventurine, Malachite, Emerald, Chrysoprase, Jade, Moss Agate, Rose Quartz
Throat Chakra (Blue) – Sodalite, Blue Lace Agate, Angelite, Turquoise, Blue Topaz
3rd Eye (Indigo) – Lapis lazuli, Iolite, Moldavite
Crown Chakra (Lavender, Clear, or White) – Amethyst, Lepidolite, Charoite, Sugilite, Fluorite, Clear Quartz, White Quartz
Final Words on Creating Crystal Elixirs for Chakra Balancing
Crystal lovers and healers, the world-over, have historically used crystals externally for healing purposes. They’ve worn crystals, laid them on the body, and constructed grids with them.
Alternately, crystal elixirs are used internally for healing purposes by ingesting them. And some claim ingesting crystal elixirs is more effective than external use of crystals.
Furthermore, creating your own crystal elixirs for Chakra balancing is fun and easy. For more creativity, try combining several crystals with similar effects in an elixir for synergy. Or at least, simply plop a non-toxic and non-water-soluble crystal into your water glass or bottle creating a fun simple elixir.
